AI BYTE # 1 📢 - The Power Of Typography: Ideogram AI’s Breakthrough In Image Generation
⭐ Image generation is one of the most exciting and challenging domains of artificial intelligence.
Many startups and researchers are competing to create realistic and diverse images from text or sketches. However, most of them struggle with generating text within the image, such as logos, signs, or labels. That’s where Ideogram AI comes in.
Ideogram AI is a new generative AI image startup founded by former Google Brain researchers.
It launched this week with $16.5 million in seed funding led by a16z and Index Ventures. Ideogram AI claims to have solved the problem of reliable text generation within the image, using a novel technique called typography.
Typography is one of the preset image generation styles on Ideogram AI’s web app at ideogram.ai.
It allows users to create lettering in different colors, fonts, sizes and styling. Users can also select multiple styles at once and apply them all. For example, users can generate 3D rendering, painting, fashion, product, illustration, conceptual art, ukiyo-e and more.
Ideogram AI is already available for signup in beta. Its Discord server and web app are filled with examples of people generating impressive images with lettering.
The company also showcased its mission statement, “help people become more creative,” generated using its tool on X (formerly Twitter).
Ideogram AI has attracted attention and praise from other AI notables, including David Ha, founder of Sakana AI, and Margaret Mitchell, former Google researcher.
The company has also secured investments from AIX Ventures, Golden Ventures, Two Small Fish Ventures, and industry experts such as Jeff Dean, Sarah Guo, Pieter Abbeel, Mahyar Salek, Soleio, Tom Preston-Werner and Andrej Karpathy.
Ideogram AI aims to help people become more creative through generative AI. By offering a reliable typographic generator, it may appeal to graphic designers or those who need eye-catching text and images.
Ideogram AI is a promising startup that is pushing the boundaries of image generation with typography.
AI BYTE # 2 📢 - Rockset Raised $44 Million To Accelerate Real-Time Indexing For AI
⭐ Building AI applications requires fast and efficient data processing, which is not easy with traditional databases.
That’s why Rockset, a database vendor that specializes in real-time indexing, is raising $44 million in new funding to expand its technology and customer base.
Rockset’s database uses the open-source RocksDB data store, originally created at Meta (formerly Facebook), as a foundation and adds advanced features such as vector embedding support, distributed SQL engine, and approximate nearest neighbor (ANN) indexing.
With Rockset, AI developers can query both regular data and vector embeddings in real-time, using a single SQL query. This enables powerful use cases such as large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and similarity search.
Rockset claims to have customers across various domains, such as e-commerce, gaming, social media, and cybersecurity.
Rockset’s cofounder and CEO Venkat Venkataramani said that the company is seeing more demand for its real-time indexing capabilities in the modern generative AI era.
He also said that the company is looking forward to adding more AI features, such as GPU acceleration, in the future.
Rockset’s new funding round was led by Icon Ventures, with participation from Glynn Capital, Four Rivers, K5 Global, Sequoia and Greylock4.
The company has raised a total of $105 million to date.
AI BYTE # 3 📢- Meet Cosmic, The New Dating App That Uses AI To Create Your Profile From A Personality Quiz
⭐ Online dating can be frustrating and time-consuming. You have to create a bio that showcases your personality, interests, and goals, but you may not know how to describe yourself well.
You also have to swipe through hundreds of profiles that may not match your preferences or expectations.
That’s why I’m excited to introduce you to Cosmic, a new dating app that aims to make online dating easier, fun, and more authentic.
Cosmic is the first product from, a company founded by a former engineer and product designer, who has worked at Roblox
Cosmic’s unique feature is that it uses a personality quiz and machine learning (ML) technology to create your profile for you.
You just have to answer a few questions about yourself, such as “What do you like to do for fun?”, “What are your dreams for the future?”, or "What’s most important to you in life?".
These answers are private to you — they’re not published on your profile. Cosmic then extracts personality traits and interests from your answers and generates a profile that reflects who you are.
Cosmic also uses ML to fill in Hinge-like prompts for you, such as “The key to my heart is…”, “My greatest strength is…”, or “A popular song that describes my life is…”.
These prompts help you showcase your personality and spark conversations with potential matches.
Cosmic is different from other dating apps that use quizzes or algorithms to match you with compatible people. Cosmic does not compare your results to anyone else’s — it simply helps you create a profile that represents you better.
You can then browse through other profiles and swipe right or left as you wish.
Cosmic also does not charge for basic features like undoing swipes, seeing who likes you, or boosting your profile. The app is completely free to use, with no ads or subscriptions.
Cosmic is now available to the public in the U.S., Peru, Colombia, and some other countries in South America and Europe.
If you’re looking for a new way to find love online, give Cosmic a try. You might be surprised by how much it can reveal about yourself and others.
And who knows, you might just meet your cosmic match.
